Mary June Williams “MJ”, owner, creates a “learning community” for all independent agents affiliated with Alpha Voyages Travel Agency.  “MJ” sets the stage…IC’s have many opportunities to learn and grow their business.  There is no limit on the commissions that can be earned if you work and grow your travel business.  Commissions earned are based on sales.
In order to affiliate with Alpha Voyages, a yearly fee is charged and a yearly contract is signed. Errors and Omissions travel protection for independents is included in the yearly fee.
Perhaps the greatest plus to having a host agency near your home is having personal in-house training during the learning process.  Then there is the networking with fellow IC’s as well as quick access to brochures, documents, as well as firsthand eye contact with vendor Business Development Managers.

Team meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month at 5pm at the agency.  Examples of resort representatives who have come to the agency include Sandals & Beaches, Karisma, Palace, Club Med.  Tour vendor who have visited include G Adventure, Trafalgar, Globus, Collette, Celtic Tours, Disney and Apple Vacations.  Tour operators who have visited include FunJet Vacations with Mark Travel.  AirPro, CruisePro, and PinSight with Travel Leaders as well as Travel Guard Insurance.  Our main cruise search engine is Cruisepro with Travel Leaders.  Our main hotel operators include Travel Bound, Expedia, PinSIGHT, Celtic Tours, and Avanti Destinations. Our main third party travel insurance company is Travel Guard.   So, you can see that each IC has a lot to learn.  I am amazed that vendors want to travel “over the mountain” to personally meet our team.  That’s training and that’s knowledge.

Each April, the team travels “over the mountain” for the annual Sandals Certified Sandals Workshop in the Fairfax area.  This is a mandatory meeting for those ICs who want to maintain their certification with Sandals and qualify for FAMS.

Each IC has access to the follow:

• Each IC is given access to Google Docs that consist of brochure inventory, vendor umbrellas, data procedures and other travel resources such as how to build an invoice.
• Each IC purchases a license to have the agency’s data and invoicing program loaded onto their computer.  This date system is accessible from any computer, anywhere, and using any web browser, The database program is operated by Travel Leaders.
• Each IC develops an agent profile which is displayed on our website.  The agent profile can be modified by the agent and updates immediately to our website.  Each IC’s profile is marketed by Travel Leaders.
• Each IC can have an extension number associated with the main line of the agency.
• Each IC is encouraged to grow their own business by branding email signature lines, business cards, Facebook business pages with an Alpha Voyages logo and a statement that there are affiliated with Alpha Voyages Travel Agency as an Independent Travel Consultant.  Alpha Voyages Inc is a member of CLIA and IATA.  Travel professional ID cards are available to each IC once requirements are met.
